Another classic
Legends air show! The weather wasn't quite as sunny as I
would have liked, but for summer 2008 in the U.K., it was a good day!
Fortunately my
wife was happy to remain on pup duty for the day, so as usual, it
was an early start, arriving at 7am. gates opened a bit
earlier than scheduled, so I was soon parked up and ready to explore
the site. The three B-17s were parked together on the East apron and
aircraft were being moved from Hangar 2 on to the field. After
watching TFC dealing with some tech issues on two of the Mustangs, a
brief bacon roll then it was flight line time. The early morning
sunshine was soon obscured by cloud, so not too many flightline pics
this year. I concentrated mainly on the exhibits where something
interesting was underway. Then checked out the trade stalls and
headed back to the car for lunch.
I found my chair
on the flightline had been surrounded by a group of French
enthusiasts, but they had left me plenty of room so no problems. TFC
carried out a test flight on their Gladiator soon after I had sat
down, great to see that complex machine in
the air after its virtually complete re-build. Then shortly before
2pm, the flying display began with the Spitfires.
Rather a lot of
pics below, so I have divided them into 2 pages, with links to let you
navigate your way around. The pics sequence is roughly in line with
the running order...... |
