             The American Air Museum

The American Air Museum forms a unique collection of American war planes in an equally unique building. Several exhibits are suspended from the roof in appropriate flying configuration.  The end result is a world class display of historic U.S. military aviation hardware.

The museum also contains a gift store with a good selection of aviation books and a small cafe selling sandwiches, cakes and hot/cold drinks (often my Sunday snack lunch venue!)...........Now, just to complete the collection, how about an ex-Lakenheath B-47 or perhaps a B-36 ....and of course B-45s flew out of Sculthorpe!  ............  Ah well, I guess I'll still have to make that visit to Wright-Patterson, some day after all !
